The crew upon this ship are sailing
Is deafened by the ocean’s roar
They are tossed by the mighty breakers
Toward the rocks upon the shore
Jesus savior be our captain
And guide us through this awful storm
And help to save each drowning sailor
Who has tumbled overboard
This world is like a grand old ocean
The church is like a ship at sea
We are helpless little sailors
Lord we’re helpless but for thee
